Bilingual:
Bilinguals use their languages for different purposes, in different domains of life, to accomplish different things. For example, the people that pursue their studies in a region or country with a different language to their own and hence become bilingual. Other events such as intermarriage or professional opportunities – diplomacy, business, foreign journalism, language teaching, and so on.
Bicultural:
Biculturals share their cultures; they choose a cultural base to
interact with and then will bring in the other culture(s) when needed, however
certain attitudes, feelings, and behaviors may be less adaptive.
A person who is bilingual and bicultural can distinguish between an English word (to) and a Spanish word (tu). The meaning of these words is different but their sounds are very similar, i.e. if a person is bilingual and knows only one culture "his/her native culture" which in English the word (tu) is not used.
